The dorm is ready
The construction team moved at incredible speed and the second floor of the dorm as well as the renovated first floor are ready for the bachurim. This week we celebrated with a chanukas habayis and installation of mezuzos.
We were honored with a visit by Rav Elimelech Kornfeld who spoke to all assembled about the importance of dorms as without sleep one cannot study. He told a story of a bachur who was up late studying one night when some other bachurim were causing some mischief. As a result, he was assumed to have participated in the antics that got them into trouble. He went to Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach z’l proclaiming his innocence. Rabbi Auerbach responded by saying, “You are guilty. Guilty of not getting enough sleep.”
We were also honored by a visit by R’ Moshe Abutbul, the former mayor of Beit Shemesh and a long-time advocate for the Charedi community.
The bachurim are enthusiastically moving into their new home, which is quite lovely by the way.
