About the Yeshiva

Ohr Yehoshua Nesivos Hatorah is a Premier Yeshiva Gedola in the Heart of Ramat Beit Shemesh.

History: Yeshivas Ohr Yehoshua Nesivos Hatorah (OYNH) opened its doors in chodesh Nissan 5770 (2010) with 26 students and with a mission to create a center of Torah learning excellence that will uplift the level of Torah learning and observance in Ramat Beit Shemesh.

Building Bochurim the “old fashioned way” — the rebbe-talmid relationship. OYNH stands out by giving each student personal attention and developing and guiding each student. With much effort by the yeshiva’s talented Rebbaim and the Rosh Yeshiva, coupled with siyata dishmaya, the OYNH has experienced amazing success in building each student to reach his potential. As a result, OYNH has earned a stellar reputation as one of the top yeshivas in Eretz Yisrael..

Yeshivas Tifrach: Harav Hagoan Aviezer Piltz, shlit”a, one of the gedolei hador and the rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Tifrach, one of the most respected yeshivas in Eretz Yisrael, recognizing the success of OYNH and tremendous impact the yeshiva has on its students, made OYNH an official branch of Yeshivas Tifrach. Rav Piltz, who at one time traveled from Tifrach to Ramat Beit Shemesh every other week to give shuir clalli in our yeshiva, is available to speak with our students, answer questions and give advice. Even more telling, Rav Piltz sends select top students from his yeshiva in Tifrach, which has about 900 students, to OYNH to be built and developed, knowing that they’ll get the personal attention they need in order to reach their potential.

Be a part of this wonderful success story!

The Rosh Yeshiva

The Rosh Yeshiva, HaRav Yosef Dovid Rubinstein, shlita, brings with him many years of experience from studying in Philadelphia, Detroit, Lakewood, Brisk and Mir and has taught as a maggid shiur (Yeshiva Lecturer) at Yeshivas Mir under HaRav Nossan Tzvi Finkel, z”l.

Rav Rubinstein has hand-picked exceptional and dedicated educators who have proven that they understand the complexities of life faced by 16 to 19 year old students.

The Style of Learning

The traditional style of learning focuses on creating a sense of order from all the texts learned and empowering the student to reach an understanding of the reasoning behind the different Halachic opinions.

The Yeshiva also emphasizes to the students an importance of Musar studies and character development.

The Yeshiva's Staff

We pride ourselves on giving each talmid a strong connection with at least one of the Rebbies, and usually with all of the Rebbies; all of this in order to build a strong and stable mindset of a love for Torah and perseverance in the students that will, G-d willing, stay with them for life.

In order to provide the ideal growth environment for the students, fine Avrechim (Married, full time Torah students) are sponsored by the Yeshiva.  These Avrechim learn together with the younger students so that they can provide guidance and positive role models.

Dormitory Building Campaign

Baruch Hashem, the yeshiva is growing, and as a result, our need for our own dormitory has also grown.
The yeshiva has embarked on building steel framed dormitories adjacent to the new Yeshiva Building which will be completed, iy”H, before Elul.
